Spatial Location
Roles: occupant, region, boundary, interior, depth, threshold
Being situated in a place, with the place’s properties affecting the occupant. A more static complement to the journeys frame — where journeys emphasize movement along a path, spatial location emphasizes positional stasis: you are somewhere, and where you are matters. The frame provides depth (how far in), boundaries (edges you can approach or cross), and regions (zones with distinct properties). Grounded in the embodied experience of occupying space, this frame underlies the STATES ARE LOCATIONS family of conceptual metaphors.
