Social Presentation
Roles: presenter, audience, front, backstage, impression, performance, mask, persona
The management of how one appears to others in social interaction. As a source domain, social presentation foregrounds the distinction between displayed and private selves, the effort required to maintain appearances, and the conditions under which performances break down. Draws heavily on Erving Goffman’s dramaturgical model of social life.
