The evaluation of one’s own abilities, performance, and standing. As a target domain, self-assessment borrows from mirrors (reflection, distortion), measurement (calibration, accuracy), and courtroom proceedings (evidence, judgment). The domain foregrounds the recursive problem that the instrument of evaluation is also the object being evaluated.
