Physical displacement through space — walking, running, flowing, flying, crawling. One of the most productive source domains in English because movement is experienced from infancy and its structure (origin, path, destination, speed, obstacle) maps cleanly onto abstract processes. Time moves, careers advance, arguments proceed, progress is forward motion, regression is backward. The frame’s spatial logic makes temporal and causal sequences feel concrete.
