Hydrology
Roles: body-of-water, inflow, outflow, evaporation, sediment, concentration
The behavior of water bodies — inflow, outflow, evaporation, and the concentration or dilution of dissolved substances. Closed or terminal basins like the Dead Sea, where inflow evaporates rather than draining, produce increasing salinity over time. This dynamic maps onto any system where the outflow is selective: the volatile elements leave, the residue accumulates, and the remaining mixture grows increasingly concentrated.
