Exploration

Roles: explorer, frontier, terra-incognita, expedition, outpost, discovery, map, horizon

Venturing into unknown territory to discover what lies beyond the current boundary of knowledge or habitation. The exploration frame provides a spatial metaphor for epistemic progress: the known is mapped territory, the unknown is uncharted wilderness, and the explorer is anyone who pushes past the current edge. Structurally productive because it supplies direction (outward), risk (the unknown is dangerous), reward (discovery), and a persistent boundary (the frontier) that recedes as knowledge advances.
