Emotion

Roles: feeling, mood, affect, temperament, expression, regulation, trigger

The domain of felt experience — joy, anger, fear, sadness, love, disgust, and their variants. As a target domain, emotion is structured by a wide range of source frames: containers (emotions fill you up), forces (they push you around), weather (they pass over you), heat (they make you boil). The mapping direction is almost always from physical to emotional, reflecting the difficulty of describing subjective states without concrete analogy.
