Dance

Roles: dancer, partner, lead, follow, rhythm, step, choreography, audience

Coordinated movement between bodies, ranging from rigidly choreographed to fully improvised. Structurally rich because it foregrounds partnership, timing, and the negotiation between structure and spontaneity. Unlike war (which has winners) or construction (which has blueprints), dance treats the process itself as the product. The lead/follow dynamic is particularly productive as a source domain — it encodes mutual responsiveness, not command and obedience.
