Cartography
Roles: mapmaker, territory, map, scale, legend, projection
The art of representing spatial reality in compressed, selective form. Every map is a deliberate distortion — choosing what to include, what to omit, and how to project a curved world onto a flat surface. Powerful as a source domain for any act of modeling or abstraction, because it makes the cost of representation visible: all maps lie, but some are useful.
