Aesthetics
Roles: beauty, ugliness, taste, elegance, refinement, harmony, observer, judgment
The domain of beauty, taste, and aesthetic judgment — what is pleasing, elegant, harmonious, or repulsive to the senses and the mind. Aesthetics is a target domain that borrows structure from nature (flowers, sunlight, symmetry), craft (polish, finish, balance), and the body (radiance, glow, freshness). Because beauty is experiential but abstract, it relies on metaphor to become articulable.
